Missions & Evangelism

The Missions & Evangelism Ministry is dedicated to supporting the work of the Orthodox Christian Mission Center and to growing Holy Trinity through evangelism.

Operation Lace-Up

July marks the beginning of Holy Trinity’s relationship with the national ministry FOCUS North America. The Fellowship of Orthodox Christians United to Serve is “a national movement of Orthodox Christians, united in faith and joined by a desire to provide action-oriented and sustainable solutions to poverty in communities across America. FOCUS has operations and youth volunteer experiences in more than 20 cities in the United States.”
FOCUS has partnered with TOMS Shoes to provide shoes for youth in poverty across the United States. This effort has been dubbed “Operation Lace-Up.” TOMS has a policy of donating one pair of shoes for every pair that the company sells. This generosity, combined with the resourcefulness of FOCUS, has made it possible for over 3000 pairs of shoes to be distributed to San Francisco young people in need, and Holy Trinity will serve as the distribution point.
On March 22, 2014, there will be a walk/run in support of FOCUS. For more information, please see this month's Familian.
On March 15, there will be a pilgrimmage to the Assumption Monastery to here Floyd Frantz speak about Addiction and Recovery from an Orthodox Perspective. Floyd is the father of 12-Step Alcohol Treatment Programs in Romania. To attend or for more information, please contact es@holytrinitysf.org.
