What wisdom and comfort does the Church offer us in these times of unrest? How does a Christian respond in such times? How does our faith teach us to keep our peace? What are the ways we can address our anxiety and our mental health in the present moment?
Join us for a discussion with our community's clergy and mental health professionals to gain wisdom and comfort and answers to the questions you may have.
Our contributors include:
Fr. Aris Metrakos, Protopresbyter, Holy Trinity SF
Fr. Nick Mueller, Ascension Cathedral Oakland
Cindy Chacon, MFT
Noelle Bruton, MFT
Caleb Bridges, LPC
We will conclude by praying an akathist or paraklesis.
We wish for this to be a time where we can recognize each of our experiences and perspectives and be a healing presence to one another. In order to do so, we will need to:
1. Make sure that each person who speaks is shown respect and allowed to finish what they wish to say.
2. Make sure that once we've expressed our thoughts, we give others an opportunity to respond, especially our clergy and mental health professionals amongst us.
3. Make sure our thoughts we wish to express are not going to be unloving, unkind, or undignifying to others, as we’re all one body of humanity.
